Breweries in SW Washington that allow Kids

Breweries are becoming a family affair

Are you getting tired of taking the kids to the same places every weekend?  Clark County but especially Vancouver is starting to boom with a variety of kid-friendly places that even the adults will enjoy.  The places I’m referring too are breweries and taprooms.  Clark County sat on the way-side for a number of years while Portland got all the attention.  Now it’s time for Clark County to shine. Breweries have been popping up rapidly within the last several years and the best part, they cater to families.  If you live in the area or thinking of visiting soon check out these fine breweries – don’t worry the kids will enjoy themselves too.

Can kids go to breweries in Washington?

Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB)

Recently added a new location to the ever growing East Vancouver area.  While their flagship location is in Portland, they did not skimp on serving the Vancouver families.  Grown-ups can enjoy one of the several brews on tap while pairing their beer with something delicious from their large menu.  The kids will also love the play area (one is in the beer garden) and won’t leave hungry.  The kids menu is extensive.  While they have the traditional burger and fries, they also serve up healthier options like a quinoa bowl and chicken salad.

Trap Door Brewery & Taproom

Located in the heart of Uptown Village area of Vancouver.  It is a 15 barrel brewery that brews on-site making local favorite IPA’s, Wheat -Style brews, and Coffee Stouts.  Enjoy the large patio and the kids are welcome until 8pm.  Feeling hungry?  They got it covered by inviting local food trucks parked outside.  Another great way for the kids to pass the time; board games, of course!  The kids will forget they’ve been wanting to go home after a few rounds of Connect Four. The whole family to enjoy will an evening on the town.

Fortside Brewing Company

Centrally located in Vancouver and tucked away off of Andresen across from Winco.  Kids are allowed inside and can enjoy a Fortside Rootbeer while mom and dad sample a few of their 11 brews.  They don’t have a kitchen but the best food trucks of Clark County stop by daily, right outside their front door.

Ghost Runners Brewery

This 10 barrel brewery located off of Minnehaha in Vancouver.  You will enjoy looking at all the running metals that decorate the inside of their brewery. The kids will enjoy the bookcase full of games and toys, or challenge them to a game of pool or ping pong.  They serve a menu of delicious sandwiches and pizza.

Rail Side Brewing

Located in the Hazel Dell area of Vancouver, this brewery / taproom is great stop for brews and a bite to eat.  Sample a variety of static brews or one of their small batches that also bring in the crowds.

When the weather is nice the large front door will be open and they recently announced they will be expanding their outdoor seating for the spring and summer.  If the kids are hungry, their pizza will keep them smiling.

The dough is made from scratch and hand tossed for an authentic experience.  Tired of pizza, that’s ok.  They have nachos, chips and salsa, and 2 different sandwiches to cure the “hangry”.  Stop by and enjoy some great beer (sometimes cider too) and the sunshine.

Heavy Metal Brewing

What a unique spin off of your typical brewery!  This brewery / bottle shop/ restaurant / music venue was a treat for the whole family.  Plenty of beers on tap or choose from their bottle shop which include non-alcoholic drinks, and wine too.

Tap beers include their own as well as guest taps.  The kids will rock the time away with a bin full of board games, colors, cards, and a pinball machine.  Hungry?  Don’t forget to try their pizza – soooo good and stay for the live music!

Heathen Brewing Feral Public House

Located in downtown Vancouver this public house is sure to please the whole family.  37 taps which include a variety of homemade brews, guest taps, ciders, wines and kombucha.  The extensive food menu and kids menu will fulfill every appetite.  Be sure to check out their happy hour menu and weekly specials.  Read more about Heathen Brewing here.
